Connecting GERBALGO to TradersPost

GERBALGO sends its signals to a webhook in your own TradersPost account. Nothing is installed on your computer, and we never see your broker login, your balance, or your positions.

About 20 minutes, most of it waiting for your broker connection to verify.

Read this before you start

This places real orders on your account. Once armed, GERBALGO trades without asking you first. Start on a demo account and leave it there until you have watched it behave across several sessions.

Check your prop firm allows automation. Many do not, and some treat it as grounds for immediate termination of a funded account. This is your responsibility. Section 11 of the terms is the representation you make about it.

What you need first

ThingWhy
A paid TradersPost planThe free tier has no live connection.
A real broker, not TradersPost PaperThe paper broker refuses stop-loss orders, and GERBALGO refuses to send an entry without one. On paper, nothing trades at all. A Tradovate demo works.
Futures enabledWithout it every order returns “You do not have access to trade futures.”
An active GERBALGO licenceRevoking a licence stops the signals.

Set it up

1

Connect your broker to TradersPost

In TradersPost, go to Brokers → Connect a broker and connect the account you intend to trade. Use a demo or paper account from a real broker, not the built-in “TradersPost Paper” option.

Then open My Account → Asset Classes and make sure Futures is enabled. This one is easy to miss and every order fails without it.

2

Create a strategy

Go to Strategies → New strategy. Name it something you will recognise later, such as GERBALGO DEMO. The name is only for you. It isn't part of the webhook URL and we never see it.

The exact strategies to clone, and what to call each one, are in the Strategy Registry.

3

Subscribe the strategy to your broker account

Open the strategy and add a subscription linking it to the broker account from step 1.

The important part

Turn “Allow signal override” ON.

Your size is set in GERBALGO, under Leverage in Your bot on your Dashboard, and we send it with every signal. With the box ON, TradersPost uses that size. With it OFF, TradersPost throws our size away and fills whatever quantity is set on this subscription, so your Leverage setting does nothing. Until your account buffer is full you are sent half of your pick.

Start smaller than you think. You can raise it once you've watched it work. You can't un-blow an eval.

4

Copy the webhook URL

On the strategy page, find the webhook URL. It looks like:

https://webhooks.traderspost.io/trading/webhook/<id>/<token>

Use the copy button. The most common setup failure is a missed character when copying by hand. The error makes it look like a GERBALGO bug.

Treat this URL like a password

Anyone who has it can place orders on your account. Do not post it in Discord, do not email it, do not paste it into a screenshot. We store it encrypted and never display it back to you.

5

Paste it into GERBALGO

Go to Settings → Connections, open Webhook 1 (Base), paste the URL, choose Demo / paper, and press Save.

Open settings
6

Test the connection

Press Test. We send a harmless message that isn't an order, so it can't open a position.

Then open your TradersPost signal log and confirm the test appeared there. Don't skip this. A passing test only proves the URL is reachable. Seeing it in your own signal log proves the whole connection works.

TradersPost will show the test as rejected, usually “invalid payload”. That's the correct result. The test deliberately has no ticker and no action, so TradersPost reads it, sees it isn't an order, and refuses it. A rejection in your log means the message arrived at your account and nothing was traded. A test that placed a real trade would be worse.

7

Arm it

Press Arm. From that moment, signals go to your account and orders are placed automatically.

Watch the first session in your broker platform, not ours. Confirm the size that filled is the size shown under Leverage in Your bot. If it is not, disarm immediately and check that “Allow signal override” is ON.

Going live later

When you are ready to move from demo to a funded account, connect that account in TradersPost, create a new strategy for it, and paste that strategy's webhook URL into GERBALGO. Switching account type disarms the connection deliberately. You have to arm it again, so going live never happens by accident.

Stopping it

To stopDo thisTakes effect
TemporarilyDisarm in Your bot on your DashboardNext signal
CompletelyDisconnect, which deletes the URL from our databaseImmediately
From your sideDelete or pause the strategy in TradersPostImmediately
Everything, nowFlatten in your broker, then disarmImmediately

Disarming does not close open positions. It stops new orders being sent. Anything already in the market stays there until it is closed by its stop, its target, or by you.

What we cannot see

TradersPost gives us no way to read your account. We cannot see your fills, your positions, your balance, or your drawdown. We cannot tell whether an order we sent actually executed, only that TradersPost received it.

You are the only one watching your account. Automation is not supervision.

When something is wrong

What you seeUsually
“Invalid payload” on the testNothing is wrong. That's the test passing. The test has no ticker and no action, so TradersPost sees it isn't an order and refuses it. It proves the message reached your account and traded nothing. A real signal has a ticker and an action and is accepted normally.
Test fails, cannot reach URLURL copied incompletely, or the strategy was deleted. Re-copy with the copy button. This is the real failure. “Invalid payload” isn't.
Signals arrive, no ordersFutures not enabled, or no subscription linking the strategy to a broker account.
Entries rejectedYou are on TradersPost Paper, which refuses stop-loss orders. Connect a real broker.
Wrong position size“Allow signal override” is off, so TradersPost used the subscription's own quantity. Turn it ON, then check your size under Leverage in Your bot.
Nothing at all for a sessionCheck Your bot on your Dashboard. It may be disarmed, suspended, or globally halted.

Still stuck? Email investingerb@gmail.com and quote your key prefix from Settings → Support. Never send your webhook URL or your full licence key. We will never ask for either, and anyone who does is not us.
